Mariko Abe (they/them) is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Orange County, California.

Their comics primarily explore the intersection of horror with other genres, such as comedy, while drawing from their Cantonese and Japanese heritages.

They graduated from the Year-Long Comics Certificate Program from the Sequential Artists Workshop, a grassroots non-profit comics school based in Gainsville, Florida.

Before switching careers, they were a Product Manager for over 10 years with expertise in several different sectors: Network Engineering, IT Security, Globalisation, Web/Mobile App Development and more. They hold a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bristol and are a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
